incubator decision - need help

i have a little giant 10200 with the turner and forced air fan
total of $149.00 i then invested $80.00 in to a tayler mod 1506 thermoter with remot wireless temp and humidity sencer i put in the incubater this is a super set up first time i ever did eggs i grabed 15 from a friend's hen house (he has 2 roosters so figured they would be fertle . and 10 have hatched into healthy chicks just a grab bag of chicks LOL but the set up worked just super don't try to gess at humidity if you chose to turn by hand in a still air incubater rember the bottom of the eggs will be cooler then the top by 2 to 3 deg. use a egg top temp of 100 and you'll do fine '

What are you using the motherboard and cpu for? Just to turn on the power supply?

In my former life,as an EEE (Electrical Electronic Engineer,) mobo's,cpu's and such don't gather much dust around here before being used in some project of mine. What I plan on using these items for are to act as the "brains" to monitor and control the data stream that will come forth from operation of the incubator /brooder systems and the best way to simplify operations in the most efficient manner. What this amounts to is this: I'm an engineer and engineers as a whole cannot, will not nor shall not follow the K.I.S.S. Principle. If something works simply,it hasn't been engineered properly!

I'm an SE (scrounger engineer) I can't throw anything away and love to make things out of the junk I collect just to see if I can do it cheap. I spend way too much time building things just because I can when at 2 cents/hr I probably could have bought a commercial item cheaper

Here's a link to my "tvbator"

ok i have located a gqf 1202 $300 and a marsh roll-x $200 and 2 1602 hova bators with turners and one of them with fan $115 for both. Which one would u pick?

I'm thinking the gqf already got the extra $100 approved, what yall think?

I bought a used marsh rollx (now lyon ts-6). after trying a little giant for two years with dismal results I needed something else.

I'm on day 19 of my first hatch. will post how my hatch rate compared to all others the last 2 years when they are done but it has held humidity and temp in extremes of 1 to 56 degrees outside. my house is heated with baseboard and I just was not able to get a steady temp in any room of my house in previous hatches. finally put the lg in my oven as a last resort and that kept it pretty stable.

I'm sold on the lyons ability to keep a steady temp and humidity. now just to see if that translates into a better hatch.

mine was 96 used. no turner but it is incredibly easy to turn by hand. just swivel the top 180 degrees 3 times a day. never have opened it up except to fiddle with thermometers and wiggler (my fault).

I bought the 1588 with digital themostat and would never go back to any other type. I have not had to make a single adjustment to it in the past year and my temps fluctuate less than 1 degree during the whole process even though the room temp varies from 65 to 75 over the course of one day. No wrapping in blankets or foil, standing on one foot while hopping up and down:lol: etc.... It has truly made incubating nearly stress free. Now I only worry about the quality of eggs!

I think i am going to go with the 2 hova bators so i can use one as a hatcher, come to find out one of them is actually the 1588 model with electronic pre-set thermostat so that is a plus i think. Maransguy i hope i like mine as much as you do yours!

I also went to collect eggs yesterday and found one of my birchen cochin bantams sitting in one of the nests (6 pm). I tried to get the eggs from under her and she puffed up and yelled at me

. So now i have a really good incubator in the coop
