Incubator Element and Chick

Our first ever chick hatched half an hour ago

. She's adorable. However, she's also insanely active, and scaling the eggs. I'm afraid she'll be able to dance eggtop to eggtop in about 10 minutes and burn herself on the element in the LG. If I move her to the brooder now, she'll be chilled. What the heck should I do with this crazy, sweet beastie?

I am new and havent even had a hatch yet , All I can say is keep an eye on here and if she really looks like she is hurting herself take her out and keep her warm.

are the other eggs due to hatch now also? if yes, do not open the bator,,,,,,,period.........

that chick will be ok for a couple of days..

Yep, they are due but lagging behind. I have 11 eggs left. Four are pipping and peeping. When one egg peeps she scrambles over to it and rests her head on it. So sweet. I will go sit on my hands!

do you suppose that peeping acts as encouragement for all the eggs to hurry up and hatch??

I think so! My sole chick (not solo anymore) was peeping only at the ones getting ready to hatch. The other eggs were his playthings.
