I have a hova-bator incubator, I just bought a fan to add to it. My question is should the fan push air toward the eggs or pull air.The fan is from the Hova-Bator website, but it does not say in the instructions which way the fan blows. It mounts on the top, also the way I hooked it up to the power, the fan turns on with the thermostat. Does the fan need to stay on or not? Thanks ya"ll

i hooked mine to come on and off with thermomstat. air blows upward towards the lid, not down towards the eggs. i tried hooking the fan up both ways constant and cycle on and off. on all the time the water trey was dry within 24 hrs. cycle on and off add water every three to five days. everyone has a different opinion. my homemade cabinet type cycles on and off. i have great hatches in both, it and my hova bator

Looking at the fan for my LG it is a circulation style fan. Air is forced out around the edges of the fan after being drawn up through the middle. This type of fan blows air to the sides of the incubator to keep heat evenly distributed.

Your fan really should run continuously to keep the air at a consistant temp.

This is an interesting question I never even thought about...
