Incubator Fan

I've got a little giant still air incubator with an egg turner. I don't want to spend $40 on a fan from TSC. Do I really need a fan? If so then can I just put a CPU fan in there? I don't want to spend to much $$$$. Thanks,

a CPU fan is ideal. just point the wind "up" so it diffuses accross the ceiling of the bator.

ah. good idea. Do you know this as a fact or from experience or are you just guessing that it would be a good idea to point it towards the ceiling?

while its good to validate knowledge, i generally dont offer guesses. To validate my experience, I have upgraded several styrobators, built a few small bators and a couple that can handle up to 1200 eggs.

if you look at the fans on any styro bator you buy that is the way they are set up. the rationale is that you want to disperse the air throughout the incubator, not have it concentrated on the eggs below the fan.
