I just purchased 3 dozen Light Sussex Hatching eggs...
The first 2 dozen disappeared and got lost for a day and a half... they're finally here...
They look pretty well packaged, BUT we paid $50 to get them shipped here (okay, $44) in one day and they arrived a day and a half late

I think the person sent us a few eggs that were porous

on purpose... so I know those aren't going to hatch. Bah humbug!
I'm so excited and scared... O.O and >_<

And the last batch is to come in a week from now or so...

Our three incubators... PUKED on us... *grabs heart*
Pray they'll start working!!! LOL

I'll be dragging the last dozen to Chemistry class to beg the Prof to borrow his NEW $4000 incubator!!!! Ack!!!

P.S. One of our boxes of eggs (1 dozen) is still missing... it's been a week. WHERE ARE THEY?????

Man, your mail delivery sucks!

Good luck with the hatch.

You know when I got stuck with too many eggs for my incubator, I asked on the board for someone local who could help me hatch. I got a couple of great offers and I made a great friend!

Ask on the board if anyone near you can do a foster incubation for you while you work out your incubator woes.

Expedited shipping an no tracking number provided? That sounds a little fishy. I think I'd complain and complain loudly to the sender!! Gawds how I hate paying extra for something like that and then not get what I paid for!!

Do you have time slap together a home made unit? Might be a good time to try your hand at a home built bator, just for the heck of it if nothing else. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ok, I know this is a stupid question, but I am still kind of new to all of this!

What is a porous egg?

Ya know what? Poop happens. The postal service isn't perfect. I also cannot imagine that someone would purposely send pourous eggs, unless they were just downright dishonest. Set them anyways - you won't know for sure til about day 3-5.

No problem - it will resemble a pumice stone when candled. Like a bunch of air holes on the shell.

Thanks! Next question, I didn't see it on that page. Is that just something the hen lays? or is it something that happens to the egg? I have a few of those right now in my bator.
