Incubator Humidity Too High?

Beginner hatchet here. I have a DIY still air styrofoam incubator that usually keeps a steady 100-102°F and a 45-50% humidity. However, the humidity jumped to 60% for an hour or two while I was away. I immediately cracked open my incubator to lower it as soon as I noticed. My eggs have only been incubating for two days, so will this cause issues?

In short - no, this shouldn't cause issues. If the problem happens often you might want to try and reduce the surface area of the water channels and/or try to make a vent instead of repeatedly opening the incubator.

Humidity really matters over the long term of the incubation. Your best bet to find out if your humidity is where it needs to be is by monitoring your air cells. If your air cells are too small then your humidity is too high. If your air cells are too large for your humidity is too low. If you monitor them on day seven, Day 14, and 18 you can usually adjust the humidity as needed to get a good hatch. But I spike or a drop in humidity for a short period of time such as an hour will not affect the eggs at all, unless you are in lockdown and you actually have checks actively hatching in your humidity drops extremely low. At that point you may have chicks get stuck.
