incubator ideas! post your ideas for home made incubators, whether they work or not~

Hatch Day 19 out of 20 eggs! (1 got past the radar and wasn't fertile) 100% Hatch out of a junk wine cooler! I'm doin the Chicken Dance! Thanks to all of you! I have been able to research and follow your post to make sure we did it right! Couldn't have done it without you! Unique combination Black Australorp and Rhode Island Red, makes for a pretty bird.

2 month old roo. Australorp/Rhode Island Red from previous hatch

looks like a hen to me.

but i have been wrong before.

this incubator works really well, the change from this pic is that i moved the PC fans to where the one on the lid is. and so far, 100% development of the button quail(who i thought would be infertile) i set a week ago.

this is the new and improved version of my incubator shown two pictures above. it works perfectly so far! the bad part is that i need to make something to keep the wires from getting jammed in between the lid and main box. it doesn't close all the way sometimes either, but the Little Giant heating element heats up and cools extremely fast, so amazingly it keeps a constant 97-100* F. The tops of the eggs at about 97, and the bottoms are 99. it works better with the quail eggs, might i add.

I would like to recommend you the wiring, via a small hole in the lid on top, to come outside. Make sure the cable on the inside of the lid is secured so you cannot withdraw it. This way you can completely close the lid.
