Incubator lid unsecure, is embryo dead?

I got home today to realize that my incubator lid was slightly off. The cord has a habit of catching in the gap and not closing right.

I left at 10:30 AM and it was a little before 10:30 PM when I checked on it again.

(Work and school, had just gotten home)

Is the chick dead? I put the lid on correctly now, but I'm not sure if it's a waste of time.

There's only 1 guinea egg in the bator, and it's been in for a few weeks.

Also, will that kill the incubators heat making parts?

It's a Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance.

How do I get it to beep if the temperature drops too far or spikes?

I think it might be OK, what was the temp when you noticed it? I think the 'bator should be fine also.

That sounds kinda cold

but there is still a chance, I've had a pigeon egg get cold for over 12 hours overnight a few days before hatching and it still hatched.

Yeah, I know. That's why I was asking others too. I'll keep trying and look for signs of a dead embryo.
