Incubator Lockdown Question

Hello all! Happy spring hatching! I’m on my first ever hatch and had a question. I’m using the Brinsea Advance 2 automatic. I have one egg that has pipped and there are two days left in the 21 day cycle. My question is can I still open the incubator and switch out the turner tray for the hatch mat? I wasn’t sure if it would be too late at this point since one chick has already broke through. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

If they're pipped externally I would wait. As long as the turner is off it should be ok. The Brinsea Mini Advance has a flat turner so it's not something the chicks will get their legs stuck in. I would just make sure that their little legs don't slip out from under them causing splay leg but they should be just fine.

Yeah I agree with @CluckNDoodle , leave them. It might mess up your pipped one if you open the incubator, it will let all of the humidity escape
