Incubator or Hen?

I'm a newbie with chickens, but we should start having eggs within a few weeks (They are a week from 5 months old) . I know a lot of people have incubators....so should I take the eggs and put them in an incubator, or should I leave them with the hen? Or have an incubator on standby?

A hen is best, but you have to wait till one is broody, meaning that they sit on a nest all day, even if empty, and stop laying. If they're not broody, they won't stay on the eggs.
