Incubator Parts

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could tell me briefly about various parts of the incubator. What is a wafer? What is a microswitch?

Pic of a thermostat, both the micro switch, and wafer are part of the thermostat.

The switch is the black box at the bottom. The wafer is the bronze color disk.

Thanks for the picture. Let me re-phrase my question. What does each of the items do? What is the function of the wafer?

The wafer expands with heat , making the micro swith which turns off the heating unit.

The wafer expands( thats the copper colored unit) as it heats up. When the wafer expands enough it hits the microswitch. The switch is then pushed in and cuts the circiut for the heating system off. It will also cut off anything else in that circuit. When the wafer cools down it contracts and releases the microswitch and the unit cuts back on. I hope that helps. Later, Dave27889
