I just set some araucana eggs last night in a hover bator incubator with an egg turner. I have a few ?'s
1) normally it says to put eggs on their sides in the slots but this unit will not fit them on their side - it looks like you put then in one end or the other - is that right? and which side should be up the bigger or smaller side?
2) what should my humidity rate be right now for Araucana chicks? I am at a steady 30% right now.

Thanks for the input

The eggs should be placed pointy end down, fat end up. Your humidity sounds fine, I wouldn't let it get any lower though. I usually run my incubators at 40-45%.

Thanks for the reply - I am good then. I am now averaging about 40% as well now that it is getting warmer in the house. Is it ok to let the humidity fluctuate? or do I want to target a number and stick with it?
