I see that the Little Giant and the Hova-bator are both manufactured by G. Q. F. Manufacturing. I seen a lot of people here talking about the Hova-bator. But here's the deal. I have a gift certificate for a farm supply store here, and I was wanting to use it for an incubator... but they sell only one kind, the Little Giant. So can you tell me, what, if anything, makes the Hova-bator better than the Little Giant?

I don't know the answer to that but I've been to the GQF website before, maybe you could go and do a comparison of the models.

~just in case somebody doesn't have an answer for you...lol

From personal experience, model# 1588 HOVA-BATOR has been a good to excellent product for my use. I've had Little Giant incubators made by Miller before and put them through regular use,but Little Giants require a lot of tweaking to get them to work right and if you want to put in the egg turner, you need to purchase an expander ring to raise the height of the incubator and then that requires more tweaking...too much tweaking for me! The 1588: put small amount of warm water in bottom of plastic liner;put in mesh screen;put in egg turner with the appropriate sized egg racks;put in eggs pointy end down;put on top;plug it in;wait 18 days-then pull plug to egg turner. Clean the incubator with soapy water;wipe down with antiseptic spray or baby wipes. That's it...nothing to tweak. Like Ron Popeil says,"Fix it and forget it!"

All y'all take care.

Hmmm.... now im really lost. My Farm store is all messed up. Its http://www.farmking.com and when you type in incubator in the search box, this comes up...

103001 Warm Air Incubator MILLER "LITTLE GIANT" MFG. 9200/1602N

But when you click on that.... this comes up....

SKU: 103001
Heading: Warm Air Incubator
Description:
Manufacturer: G. Q. F. MANUFACTURING COMPANY
Model #: 1602N
Farm King Price: $54.99 Suggested Retail $73.99

Model number 1602N is the Hoverbator.....

So I guess I made up my mind... after reading that report on the comparisons of the two, they all seem not perfect, but both seem like they'd work.

So whether Farm King has a Little Giant or Hoverbator, I'm gonna buy it!

The new Hovas have a better, preset thermostat. I have 3 Little Giants with air and
turners. I've had mostly good hatches. My bad hatches were due to bad thermometers.

Make sure you get a water wiggler and a good thermometer to match.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!

It's a cheap kids toy that can be found in Wal-marts, .99 cents or so....a rubbery clear tube with water in it...has a space running thru the middle that the probe from a accurite therometer fits in, some people on here use as to get a reading of internal temp of what the egg temp should be inside their bators.....I'm sure someone will have a pic to show you... I've never used one
