Incubator question.

The ambient temperature in my incubator is 99 degrees.
A thermometer inside confirms this.
I also have a laser thermometer that reads 99 degrees in EVERY area of the incubator EXCEPT the egg. When the laser is put on the egg it reads 103???

Should I lower the temp of the incubator or are the eggs supposed absorb the heat like that?

Hmmm, I'm not sure what you should do. Since most temp readings from the incubator are air temps, and it's reading 99, I'd just go by that and leave it be.

What happens when you point the laser thermometer at boiling water?...or at ice cubes just covered with water?

I use boiling water to test one of my thermometers, then compare the other thermometers against that one.
