Incubator too hot but eggs developing fine, what can i expect?

Ive been incubating for 13 days now. There are 12 eggs and the entire time the incubator has been running hot, the incubator is still air and the dial that controls temp is not working, so the incubator has been running between 103 and 107. Ive just tried to turn the eggs more frequently and when i do i take the lid off the incubator to let the temp decrease for a moment. I figured the eggs would be dead already but it looks like theres 2 duds and one quitter. Is the fact that the eggs are developing fine a sign that the temp is alright or do eggs usually die later in the incubation?

Are you using separate calibrated thermometers, & hygrometers to monitor conditions in the incubator? Never trust the built in thermometers, & hygrometers.

I agree there is a chance that if you do not have separate thermometers and hygrometers inside your incubator readings could be way off. However, if the temperature readings are correct any eggs that do not die will develop much faster than they should. This can cause a whole host of health issues for any that do end up hatching.

If that temperature is accurate, I doubt they'll make it to hatch. If they do, somehow, you risk deformities, early hatching (not ready yet), unabsorbed yolk, navel buttons or hernias, small and weak chicks, and more. Maximum acceptable temperature is typically no more than 101, but some embryos can survive and hatch successfully up to 104.4.

If I were you, I'd buy a temp regulator ASAP and get it hooked up to that incubator, or buy a different incubator and transfer them - letting the temp fall slowly before transfer so they aren't shocked.

Either way, you should be preparing yourself for a difficult hatch time.

I have two separate thermometers in the incubator that say the same thing. I'm not really sure if they're calibrated or how to calibrate them but what I can say for sure is that when i move the dial for temperature, even when i move it an extreme amount, the temperature does not change. The only thing that changes temperature is the temperature of the room.

I have done one incubation with this incubator and i thought the dial was working, but the temperature fluctuated a lot. More like between 98 and 103. From 9 eggs i got 2 successful hatches while 3 eggs got nearly completely hatched and died before finally pushing from the egg. I think it is probably likely that the dial was not working for regulating the temperature in the first place. Its a wafer incubator if that means anything for temp regulation.
