I have a Brinsea Ova-Easy 360 that I have used for several hatches. Somehow last year the trays were not put back in for storage after cleaning, and their whereabouts is a mystery.. I ordered some replacement trays, but they hot the eggs upright. (Seems so unnatural to me). The incubator rocks them side to side automatically, but I ust can't help but worry that they are developing wrong in this position.

In addition to the auto turning, do you think I should flip the eggs regularly? Should I modify the trays to allow the eggs to lay down? (I think i could break off some of the tong thingies)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Stay well everyone.

I’m having a hard time trying to picture what you mean. Do you have a picture?
Here are some different angles and some with eggs in the incubator.

If they get rocked back and forth they should be fine. I had an incubator whose egg turner held the eggs straight up and would shift them from side to side 3 or 4 times a day. They hatched just fine. This is a pic

It appears to be a very common arrangement for automatic egg turners in incubators, to just keep the large end up, and tip them a bit to one side and then the other. I assume it would not be so common unless it worked fairly well.
