I'm having trouble keeping the tempature regulated in my home made incubator plus even worse is i can't get the humidity up high enough.

anybody have any suggestions?

Wet paper towels in small water dishes sometimes help to raise humidity.

If you can't keep the temp stable, you may need a new thermostat.

Or you can wet an old t-shirt and throw in this helps raise the humidity....

Make sure you keep it out of any draft. Mine are real prone to temp changes or drafts in the room.

Hi,
A lot of people make the mistake of having the incubator in an area that is too cold. If you had an incubator in a room that is only 18 degs C.
and the movement of air through the incubator comes from that room then you will not get your eggs up to temp or you will have poor hatchability. To be successful you should have your incubator room at a thermostatically controlled 24 degC. Your eggs in storage should be 10-16 deg and then you would place them in the incubator room overnight to preheat before they go in the incubator. Following this procedure I hatched over 1000 eggs with a 98% success rate.

A saucer of water in the bottom of the incubator kept half full, will be enough for the humidity.
