My old incubator was running just fine, for a few days (set the eggs last Thursday) and the temp has been sitting right on the money. Now today, I am having trouble getting the temp up - wondering if I need to replace the thermostat? The ambient temp is exactly the same so I know that's not the issue. I was looking on Amazon and saw this one. Is this a viable replacement?

My incubator is the hovabator 1583 forced air.

That is the basic wafer thermostat. What you linked to will work. You might be able to find it at a farm store quicker, not sure.

Thanks! Our feed store is pretty basic (very small town) Going to order one right now. At least the temp is running low and not cooking the eggs instead!

It's sitting between 97.3F and 98.8F. I just looked at the wafer - going to take too long to get here...

If I walk away from it the temp gradually drops to about 97.3F. I have been doing a lot of turning and actually just had 100F. But it doesn't seem to hold the temp for some reason

1.5 degree swing sounds normal for a wafer. 2.7 degrees does not.

What do you mean you are doing alot of turning, you have an automatic egg turner?
