Incubator vs Chicken

i don’t feel so bad now. I had my Marans hen sitting on 7 eggs. She managed to hatch out 2.

Now I don’t feel so bad hatching 4 of 6 out in the incubator.

Everyone has a different need for replacement chickens or chickens with which to grow a flock, but a full clutch of eggs (about 15) IMO will usually result in a higher % of live chicks and a smoother hatch under a mother hen.

Well it probably would but all I had at the moment was a 7-egg ‘bater.
