Incubator vs Hen

-35, only because I've never had a hen incubate her eggs.

It may be a stupid question, but I read somewhere that it isn't safe to leave the newborn chicks out with a Roo, because he'll kill them. However, I figure that he'd take care of them if they were from one of his girls, but I don't know. What is correct here?

-36, neither. Most roosters have no intention on killing baby chicks, from my experience, and are actually nice to them. I had a huge rooster that lived with a hen and her chicks and took care of them both. The chicks were not his.

I know buff orpingtons are good layers that go broody. I dont know about roosters. I moved my hen to another coop when she went broody but my bantam rooster was kind to them.
