My turkeys and chicks were due to hatch today and yesterday. 3 chicks and one turkey have hatched. They were in the incubator drying when the temperature went up to 115 degrees. The chicks were panting when I found them and the turkey was on his back panting. 7 turkeys and 1 chick hadn't hatched. We got the hatched ones out and had them drink water. They are all fine now and the other chick is hatching but the turkey eggs aren't doing anything.. are they ok??

Oh my! I hope someone can let you know if they have had the same thing happen and the chicks hatched. I'm glad you found the hatched ones in time.
Good luck!

I have had a 120* spike for a few hours. and still 80%+ hatch rate. If it is time you can water test them. They should float and wiggle like crazy.

Ok I will try that! The chick is hatching but the turkeys aren't doing anything! Thank you guys!

Did you put the turkey in same day? Turkey usually take 28 days. Chicken only take 21.

No I put the chicks in a week later. They were dead;( I now have a broody chicken raising my 4 chicks and 1 turkey that survived. The turkey goes out into their little outdoor area alot and just sits in the grass all alone.. the chicks all follow their mommy everywhere! The turkey loves his family and keeps up. I'm getting 4 turkeys tomorrow since I only have one. Can my broody raise 5 turkeys and 4 chicks or should I raise the turkeys? I dont really want to take the turkey away from his yard and family to live in my shed in a cage where theres no access to grass.. but i will move him if that will help him. My broody is a silver duckling bantam.

Turkeys grow at a lot slower pace then chickens. So most likely would get picked on and or killed. I would personally raise the turkey on my own and leave the chickens in with the other ones

I'm currently trying to hatch duck eggs and I had As 120 temp spike. 3 are 1,2,3 days overdue and I did the water test

We once had a hen raise baby turkeys. The hen was a Buff Orpington. That turkey thought it was a chicken till the day it died.
