I have a Little Giant 9300 incubator with an automatic egg turner in it. How much water do I keep in it and is there any way to add water to it without taking the top off ? It's difficult to see past the egg turner trays to the water slots below it.

If you could post a picture that would help. I aim for about 30% humidity until lockdown. You have to try adding a bit of water at a time until you get where you want to be. Taking the top off to add water isn't going to harm anything.

I live in a humid area. My hygrometer is reading 50% humidity and I don't have any water in it. Can I leave it as is for the first 17 days or do I need to add water to it?

lots of people in humid areas do that... if the air cells are not growing you may need to get the humidity down to 30% but putting a bag of rice in the bator or running a dehumidifier... make sure it's reading accurately https://www.wikihow.com/Test-a-Hygrometer
