Karen, the pic is great. I've een struggling with what to do with the broodies. I have BA and BO. One BA currently, sitting on nothing as I keep removing the eggs. She plays musical nestbox . . . anyway.. . I was at a loss how to utilize the broodies and here you provided the answer! Tubs with screen tops. THey look awesome!

well i have to say the black top is much easier to see thru... i might paint the closet shelf sections. the screen over the chicks was part of an x-pen at one time, and the last batch of chicks started jumping thru the wire so the hardware cloth got tacked on.

i've been offline a bit so lost track of what's going on some. there's a dns server down somewhere along the way from home but i'm able to get on from work for a bit...

I have 13 that are developing. Its day 10. I am expecting another incubator to be delivered today!

Good luck with that! My husband saw the new 34 eggs I put in the bator last night and I did get a lecture. I just brought on the tears and everything was fine after that. LMBO!! I really was upset actually. And I'm usually not a "girly type".

ok. got my eggs yesterday!

bantam cochins
3 - Calico/Mille = CMC
2 - Buff Columbian = BFCC
2 - Back Mottled = MTC
2 - Red Mottled = RMTC
3 - Black & Blue Barred = BARC
1 - Lemon Blue = LBC
5 - Silver Laced = SLC
6 - Black split Lavender = B/LC

also put in 11 dorking eggs, and the 7 eggs that will be going to the broodies... (soon i hope! so i can make room for more eggs!)
i'm also adding whatever dorkings are laid today. i'll live with a day off for lockdown.

It will be an eruption heard around the world when he sees the new bator and eggs! My oh my! He didn't speak to me for a week when I bought the first incubator. I can't imagine his reaction to this one. I do have a slight plan though. He has asked me to hatch game birds for a friend, so I'm going to tell him that's what the second one is for. . .wish me luck!!

I think I am supposed to get my hatching eggs job today.... chocolate orpington and Swedish Flower Hens

I hope she gets tons of chickies from this hatch.... I need to change the water out in the incubator and change the light bulbs, just in case.

Congrats to everyone on the new fuzzy butts! and egg setting!

Ohhhhhhhh....I hope it goes well with the DH. I had all those chicks hatch yesterday and last night, my DH still did not know that I even had 29 silkie eggs in the bator. All was good until this morning.....My 17 year old daughter called Daddy to look at all the new babies and show him which ones she was keeping!!!!

He seemed ok with it
