I didn't get to candle lay night both dinner and desert were new recipes, so I had to be directly involved. I hate being too tired to candle. ud

This is a great thread to get info...warning...hatching is VERY addicting once you get a bator

But lots of fun!!!!

So sad...I have my bators cleaned and put away until after the holidays, but I love following other peoples hatches and living through their fun! Truly addicted

Yeah! I already know how addicting hatching is but only with using broodies! Read my site here to see what I mean!!! And I think hatching with an incubator will be even more fun!!! Im getting an automatic humidity/temperature/turning so hopefully it wont be thT DIFFICULT!!!!

Welcome! There's a very, very detailed link on BYC called Hatching 101. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 Great to help you with those little details along the road. (Especially if you're doing shipped eggs.) Then everyone here is always willing to help out with some of the specific questions you may have. Make sure to share pics. Everyone loves pics!

I'm working on getting an automatic everything incubator.

Thanks, just read the site, awesome info! Yes, i plan on doing shipped eggs later on but for now i will be taking eggs from my own flock!!

Yes. I saw one of those electric wine racks at a thrift store & sadly passed it by. I went back the next day, & it was gone. I ended up building mine with a plastic cooler.
What I really insisted on having was a BIG viewing window. It felt warm on the outside during my 1st hatch, so I turned it into a double pane. It really keeps the temp now, and I can get some great pics.
