Incubators Anonymous

Shipped eggs. Do I let them sit for 24 or 48 hours upon arrival before putting in the bator?
No, do not wait. Age is more of a factor than what you might gain from resting.

They need to go into an egg turner or tilted egg carton, big end up. Try to be very gentle with them for the first 5 days.

I was tempted to candle them but decided not to, no pipping yet I'm holding thumbs and hoping they wil hatch
At this point, it doesn't hurt to keep the incubator going.

I tried to move 2 eggs to a broody hen on day 18. The hen pooped on them & left them. They were laying off in a corner & cold when I found them in the morning. I put them back into the incubator. I expected nothing, but one hatched on day 23. I was busy & simply didn't get around to cleaning out the incubator. What a surprise when we heard peeping!

I'm hoping for a few chicks, the eggs are from a hen I sold.

Hi everyone! I bought a old 1200 series gqf cabnet bator. It has a waffer and electric thermasat. It is reading a temp of 97.9 and holding there but I have moved the black dial to increase temp and it wont budge! What am I doing wrong? Or what is broke? I have never had a cabnet bator and it came with no instructions. It has all the holes open in the back! If i cover them 1/2 way will that raise the temp enough? Thank you, Help please!!!!

It sounds like the wafer has gone bad.

Get an incutherm kit from incubator warehouse and convert it to digital.

What is that rod to the right of the thermostat with the wing nut? That is how I adjust my waffer heat. You have a different incubator than me or that I've used.
