Incubators Anonymous

I had some people come out to get some birds today and I didn't have time to put eggs in lockdown

I did get the hatcher cleaned and running to warm up. I have everything cleaned, except the egg cartons but that will not take long, they have been soaking most of the day in Oxine.

I tossed a good chunk of these eggs. I may have more to toss tomorrow too.

Started cleaning pens AGAIN!

Going to move the Wheaten Am chicks outside to the med size growout pen and OUT of the shop. The older chicks in the NURSERY will be moved out to the shop and the other moved to the brooder without heat.

I moved the guinea out with the chickens yesterday.... that was nice to not have to chase guinea around the shop.

ok and on a side note, today is lockdown for the pheasants and some self blue cochin eggs. openned up the incubator to find 2 pipped and 1 zipping for the pheasants already!

I have a friend who's Pheasant eggs keep hatching early. We keeps dropping the temp in the bators trying to get a better hatch time and rate. Down to about 98degrees in the bators now. Hoping this hatch will go better. Will be the last one of the year. As his hens have stopped laying with the heat.
