Oh my gosh, a real live FARM? I'm so jealous! LOL

Sigh, I'm so sick of the city..........
I cannot live in the city. I prefer the country. . . . as much as I have that in rural Massachusetts. CHickens are very adaptable so if you can have a few in the city, go for it and teach others around you to appreciate a well taken care of bird.

As Donna said, it also comes with a big price. I have dogs to help keep the animals safe. ANd a huge feed bill. We are scaling down. THe cost of feed is killing any profits. ANd this year hay is being trucked to all the places that have had drought, leaving a much smaller supply in the northeast.

Enjoy your little corner of the universe where ever that is.

It is not looking good. If they are still alive tomorrow I think they might make it. One was dead. 2 more died.... so I left the others in the eggs with an air hole. Humidity was at 75% and I had a paper towel over them to keep them moist. That will not last long though.

I'm sorry...It's always so hard to know what's the right thing and what's the right thing when hatching. You're doing your best. Remember that.

I had 18 hatch but need 5 more and it is on day 23 do I still leave them in there or throw them away the eggs that did not hatch .Dont know it's my first time...Plz help and one was born it is always on its side does not walk but move legs . like to be with his feet up in the air....Don't know what to think about that little chick Plz help....:/

Just put eggs into lockdown! 37/37 barred rocks and 7/8 meat project eggs made it this far. Then my next will be quail I have cooking and more project eggs and then finally more cream legbar and some Norwegian jaerhorn from the September swap.

Angelita80, what do you have under the birds? Newspaper can be too slippery. I started mine off on shavings with paper towels on top the first two days. But it kind of sounds like the chick is sick? I remember reading another lady had that problem... the chicks couldn't get to water so died that way. You'll need to make sure it gets water, don't let it drown though. It's best to post that in the emergencies section of the forum though, I'm too much of a newb. Good luck with it, I hope it makes it!!
