Hey Aspen, Let's see the parents! My first experience was buying bantam eggs at an auction. When they hatched, they were so tiny I was petrified they weren't going to eat, so for about a week I was feeding them every so many hours with a syringe! Talk about over protective mothers! Some how they just didn't seem like chickens after having the big ones. But I bet your feed bill would be better with those little guys !

rofl hubby just said we need to put a grazing muzzle on ducky, my oegb... she came waddling up from the horse pasture and he said she looked about ready to explode she'd eaten so much today...

i was going to post good news, kinda... of the 51 eggs in the 'bators, the 5 marans are still ??, of 14 EE, 12 are alive, of 21 dorkings, 19 are alive! and my own 11 bantams, 9 are developing nicely. cross fingers they keep going!

but i still don't have room for ALL of the live ones in the turner!

hoping i'm turning often enough, it's only a few times a day right now. but will be more over the weekend as i'll be home more now.

The Serama I hatched out Sunday is eating just fine, didn't even have to show her how to.

Oh, heck yah!

They will tear you limb from limb if you get anyway close to their chickadeesss!!

Yes, they don't ear NEAR as much as the LFs do, but I like my Big Fluffy Orps, Ameraucanas, and Sussex!

Did I ever send you that pic of two quail chicks on a spoon? Talk about little babies! I have been considering getting some bantams besides silkies, but I need to get my LF settled first. DH actually liked the pair of bantam cochins I hatched, but I gave them to my neighbor. No coop for them. Besides, a pair is not enough.;-)ps, I love your seramas, so cute the way their little tails perk up!
