So I followed advice given. Keeping humidity about 40% only turning 2 timers a day and I have development. Woohoo how egg.citing is this

you need to turn the eggs an odd number of time so they will not be in the same position they started. 3 or 5 is better than 2. I only can turn once a day....they hatch just fine too.

Awesome, but I think most people and all the books will say three times a day - the odd number is used because we tend to have one period per day that we are away from the eggs longer. The odd number of turns causes the egg to be on alternate sides during the "long period".

I am so glad you have development.

Good Luck

The quail eggs (light blue trays) above are starting to hatch, They are the ultimate shipped eggs - 3 planes and around 9000 miles. 20+ out in the first 90 minutes. 60+ pipped

Are the Quail eggs Jumbos ? and if so where did you get them ? I am looking for the jumbo cornix . Love them have some but they are old and around a LB each

I got them on ebay.

is the current buy it now

They are considerably bigger eggs than the regular Pharaoh - probably double. They were really tight on my trays.

My order was for 100. They shipped 115. 9 were broken getting to me. I lost 6 transporting so I was back to 100. I ordered a month early and arranged shipping on Sat, August 26 from CLAYSBURG, PA. They arrived on Mon 26 - 2 days before my flight my flight. I hatched 30 from the 100. They were set 6 days after they were initially shipped.

My two other orders were set 14 and 4 days after they were shipped - 41/110 for the Texas A&M and 39/108 for the Pharaoh.

Remember that these eggs would have gone from PA to Memphis to Orange County before a 7296 mile flight to Asia, then a 291 mile island hopper flight and a four hour drive to Cocobeach Farms. You should get a better hatch rate in the Pacific Northwest.

well, hubby's good for electronics and automotive, but anything 'chicken' i'm on my own... then again the power tools are mine.

he's already told me what he's getting me for Christmas. LOL a sliding compound mitre saw. he got me a new drill and cordless saw as well last month, and I've got the table saw set up too. all outdoors tho since I don't have a work shed, so they live with plastic totes over them... same as my air compressor. no different I guess than keeping them on the deck (covered but open to wind/rain)
so wouldn't ya know!! the new fan arrived yesterday i installed it and it is working perfectly... and then the other fan decided to fail!! sheesh.. it's not a big deal to change them out but now i have to pay shipping twice when i order the second one. I am kicking myself for not ordering two!!

order 2 this time. then you have a spare and won't ever need it. LOL

hubby always keeps old belts for the car when he changes it, then if the new one fails you'll have a spare. the only time the new one has failed so far, was when he tossed the old belt. LOL (belts in the engine...)
