And pretty too I would think. PLEASE send me some pics when you get them hatching. My CCL is laying and she is a pretty SBEL too LOL. I think the CCL with the WL is a good combo. The CCL already has production and size on its side.... not so much with the Ams.
.Sorry but this is a myth. I open the bator during lockdown and have no problems at all. I candle unhatched eggs to see how they are doing, I take out hatched chicks and empty shells. I have never once had a shrink wrapped chick that resulted from this. Sure, you probably want to add some water to compensate for any loss of humidity, but it's really not such a hard & fast rule, and it's not the end of the world if you need to open the bator.

so, working on my coolebator, I was greatly disapointed to find that our awesome local Hardware Sales doesn't carry either of the thermostats that are needed, or anything like them.Hate setbacks..
I'm looking at this lil delight, and wondering if anyones had them and happy with them? They're a bit cheaper than the wafer thermostat..must. be. frugal!! lol

did not see your postI use a digital one like this.... about the same price as what you are looking at. Takes awhile to get here but very good.

It is in C and not F so that causes a little learning curve.

Those are the same unit, two different places. The one direct from China will take longer. It is nice that its a 10a relay instead of the 5a that I bought - but mine is working just fine.
I agree, both are better because you don't have to "fiddle" with an adjusting screw and hope you get it right....
Quote: Nope, only need that box. It controls the heater element. That one will actually control a fan too if it gets too hot. cool!
