Ok. So I watched this video about feather sexing chicks at a day (or 2) old.
. Then I wrote to McMurray's Hatchery and asked them what breeds they used feather sexing on. This is the response I got from them.

Dear Becky

The following breeds may be feather sexed:

Araucana
Buff Orpington
Rhode Island
Black Giant
Dark Cornish
Silver Laced Wyandotte
White Rock,
Buff Minorca
Turkens
Black Minorca
Single Comb Leghorn
Black Australorp
New Hampshire
Pearl Whites

So, watch the video and see how it is done. They show some great photos that you can learn from! Hope this helps us all!

I posted a new thread about this chick that hatched this morning with yolk or intestines or both hanging out but no one has answered. Does anyone know if I should do something for this chick or just leave it alone to resolve itself?
looks like intestines, and IMO it will not resolve itself. the chick usually gets infection and dies. personally i just put them down quickly to save them from suffering.

Leave it for now in case there are more hatching. Once the chick is dry is a good time to move it but it can stay for up to 3 days without a problem.

Just a word of caution-- TIm Ackerson writes about how to feather sex and cautions about the birds from hatchery stock. He lists which breeds can be crossed to english and american breeds to have the sexlinked effects of feather sexing. His information indicated cross breeds are used to allow this type of sexing. ( see his thread).

the chicks were stuck in their egg ones membrane was half openeing but rock stiff solid and another was sticky like glue i tried to help them by cracking the top part of and they did the rest one is sticky and the other is kinda like that today do to temps outside the eggs humidity went up and down like crazy temp did so aswell i dont think anymore will hatch. What should i do with the sticky chick and what shoud i do about the other one.

just leave them; just takes sticky chicks longer to look fluffy than the others; sometimes they look like you dipped them in hair gel for a couple days. Eventually they fluff out.

On my really super sticky chicks I waited until they were as dry as possible (and healed from hatching on their rears) - then took a very soft toothbrush and some slightly warmer than skin temperature water and "Combed" their feathers very gently, dipping the toothbrush in the water to remove as much of the sticky as possible. Then I blow-dried them until they were almost completely dry (they usually fell asleep when I was doing this). I put them back in the brooder. Later I saw a few spots I missed, but the chicks will groom themselves and get rid of a few spots. I was concerned because the other chicks were pulling on those stuck feathers and making the sticky one squeal...
