I hand turn my eggs, mainly because my auto turner broke. So far I have only lost 3 eggs out of 25 one baby got shrink wrapped and the other two broke due to my kids getting into the bator while I had my back turned. So hand turning works for me.

OK my RIR hatched today all 12 plus some of my mixed flock mostly Dark Brahma and Austrolorps . but why on earth did i decide to put 100 eggs in the Leahy on the 3rd ?
the lady that wanted the RIR and reason i got the eggs has now changed her mind when her new neighbor brought home 2 pit bulls ................... ANYONE ?

Hmmm - that's pretty interesting.
I usually have an auto turner but have switched to hand turning so I could fit an extra 3 eggs in my bators (total 22 eggs)

It's working OK for now - but I am going on holiday for one week between days 8-15 so some family members will have to do a good job!!
