My lychee tree died horribly as soon as it was cold, not even frozen supposedly they can be grown inside but it didn't like that either( no problem with loquats here, those ARE my favorite fruit).. They are not that hardy. I LOVE rambutan they are one of my favorite fruits. We can get fresh lychees around here but not rambutans.

Thank you for the pictures, those look really neat. Can you grow them where it snows? I have a Loquat tree in my side yard - no fruit yet but it has survived two winters with snow. Its right next to the house to moderate the cold temperatures.

Rambutans are closely related to longans and lychee and taste quite similar.

The Lanzone is related to the Mahogany tree.

They grow in tropical climates.

I have only seen Lanzones in the Philippines but Rambutans throughout SE Asia. Rambut means hair in Bahasa - the language of Indonesia and Malaysia

I do not know how to spell it correctly but the fruit is duriyan, terrible smell, wonderful flavor

durian is wondeful. try durian ice cream from 99ranch or some other asian supermarket. its a good way to ease yourself into it. The stink is not there

I have tried! I just can't do it. It on the list with Vegamite ( and marmite, don't care what y'all say its not that different!!) And NATO on things that are a taste I have not acquired .
Of course tastes do change...
