I know a lot of Aussies that prefer marmite. Someone once did a formal debate on it in english. I demanded non of thw above. But they are both oooie Pattoii!

I just like to give the English a hard time but tolerate them lol.

My English mate and I had a debate on the 'mite issue for weeks at work. We did a taste test for the 'merkans that worked with us.

Vegemite won. 'nuff sed.

We're happy little Vegemites
As bright as bright can be.
We all enjoy our Vegemite
For breakfast, lunch, and tea.
Our mummies say we're growing stronger
Every single week,
Because we love our Vegemite
We all adore our Vegemite
It puts a rose in every cheek.

Ok.... I am having an issue.. I set about 32 eggs 10 days ago. I just candled and I can't see anything going on in there!!!

These eggs are from a group of hens and a roo that I have been hatching since March. The roo is 11 months old
and has been fertile all this time. Now suddenly out of nowhere i have a fetility issue???

there were 20 Black copper Marans eggs and a dozen super blue egg layer eggs, the roo is a black copper marans
big and burly and very healthy looking. It seemed to start with the SBEL's I tried a batch earlier and all were infertile
but i chalked it up to a) them being young pullets and b) that he might not have been able to catch them because they
were lighter birds... but now the infertility seems to have spread to the black coppers as well ?

I live in south florida and things have been fine all during the heat of summer.....

I am stumped as to a reason for it.. I mean he is only 11 months, so not by any means old. I also noticed that i have
not seen him mating the hens so much lately either. No physical disability has developed it's just plain weird...

anyone have any experience with this ??

I have breeds that do not mate in the heat of the summer, and I have learned which breeds not to incubate. I wouldn't worry about it and just let the weather cool down, I am in Texas myself.

is the roo moulting?

is the roo moulting?

hmm this could be it, I have noted that he lost a tail feather yesterday when i was watching him, and
recently he got two white feathers in his tail and i was shocked but then soon after they were gone..
so maybe he is moulting.

now i did not know that roos are infertile when they moult.. or is it just that they are not inclined to
do their job at that time?

I have an un-tested backup roo that i can switch him with, but i hate that because it upsets the hens
when they get a new boyfriend..
