Incubators Anonymous

Hey guys!! So finally my incubator will be here monday !!! But i have a question, they sent me 40 coturnix quail eggs and my husband wants to hatch them can i set them with my chicken eggs? just set them a few days later and they will hatch together ??

and I am going to try dry hatch, in my house my humidity is sitting at 30 so would a dry hatch be okay??

thanks

I personally wont put chicken and quail together, im too afraid of something happening due to size difference

I've kept chicks and quail together without issues... tho the new hatched quail do seem to drive the new chicks nuts at first with their zippy zooming around. LOL

I just set up my eggs for the next consecutive hatch and i counted 72.... Jeez i have never set that many before. and none are Marans!!! now that's a first.

i have 3 left zipping from todays hatch and one that never pipped..

I feel pretty sure I have 3 doz or close coming your way..... both pens are laying pretty well. Should be about half Ams and half Marans.

can't wait...

these leghorns are laying eggs like crazy i can't hatch enough to keep from filling up the refrig!!

I have 54 duck eggs in a hova bator 1588 and 34 chicken eggs in a still air incubator, I also have an egg turner for the 1588 and would like to use it so I don't have to turn so many eggs. But the egg turner only holds 41 eggs so I would have to put the extras in the still air Incubator. Should I put the extra duck eggs in the still air incubator or would that mess them up since it is 2 degrees warmer than the 1588?
