Incubators Anonymous

Ok I would like your advice on this little one. She pipped last night and sometime between 1am and 6am she hit a vein. Shes still alive and I see her trying to peck her way out but she hasn't made any progress in 6 hours. Should I give her more time before maybe seeing if some blood glued her in place? I want to avoid opening the bator if possible as I have several pips but I dont want to lose her either...

I wanted to thank everyone for helping me pick out an incubator. I just ordered the hovabator genisis 1588 with egg turner. So excited cant wait to get it! although I won't get to hatch anything this year.I'm ready for next year!:weee :celebrate :jumpy

Whooohooooo!! I'm loving mine! Its so easy, its kind of boring. Lol Thinking about ordering a 2nd for a hatcher.

Got 2 pipped and another rocking. I've never been so nervous! But my last hatch was HORRIBLE!! I need a pick me up this time!

Just thought I'd share this if anyone was interested. My daughter made me this spread sheet last year to help keep track of my hatches. Maybe it can help some of you.

if she didn't weaken herself considerably from blood loss, being stuck is a minor thing and she will tell you when she's ready to go NOW. just listen to her voice. when she's ready she'll be loud and insistent. like most kids who aren't happy with what they've got going LOL

she's got enough 'built in' food to last a couple days so letting the others hatch normally would be my priority.

Fr those with store bought incubators DH is wondering how these two compare

The Farm Innovator Pro Series and the Sanven Janoel

If you have either one I would love to hear the pros and cons. He is going to build me a cabinet one now, rather than later on down the road. He wants to see how these rate for the money.
