The time has come for some of our babies to go off to their new home. These Silver Laced Polish were part of my daughter's experiment. I couldn't help but take a few pics of our mini 80s Hair Band.

I borrowed a guitar from Barbie.

PS- Does anyone know how to tell the gender of these? The one in the middle is different. (more head poof & calmer)

The crest on the females are neat, compact, and relatively small, with feather tips slightly rounded. The crests on the males look like their head exploded -- feathers going in every direction, larger, not neat or compact, and feather tips that are more pointed than the females. I'm not sure how old these gender differences first show up. I would guess that the central one is a male

I hate working with shipped eggs.

Just locked down our 3rd & final trial (Shipped eggs vs Backyard eggs experiment)
Couldn't decided whether to stand up or lie down the eggs for hatching, so we did both. Each set has 4 eggs upright & the other 1/2 on their side.

This will be our TV for the next few days. I'm so obsessed that I know I'll be waking up every few hours once they pip. (I hate to miss seeing a hatch.) The big viewing window is the favorite part of my design. It allows for some fantastic photos. The only downside is the constant light on & off. That's why we had to place it on the floor under a table.

I managed to accidentally buy 6 more midget white turkey eggs on ebay. I didn't expect to win, but I couldn't not bid....and I won. Oooops....

So I set them last night at midnight and am hoping for a hatch like Ladycat's recent one!

Hatched seven quail and they're running around like energizer bunnies. I have another pile of those eggs I'd been saving, somebody call a doctor because I must not be well - I haven't set those yet.....I think it's the heat melting what little brain I have.

OMG their sooooo stinking cute!

My poor DH!! I abandoned him with eggs in the incy. He's done awesome at moving them to the hatcher and keeping humidity up, & keeping everyone fed, watered, & healthy. He locked down my biggest ever set on Tuesday, 48 eggs (17 r shipped). So far he has 20 new babies!! He's had to switch bigger ones out to the grow out pen, that just were not ready a week ago. I usually sell so quick, I don't wind up over run, but I'm not there to sell, so he's had to get imaginative to be sure nobody gets injured or over crowded! All while working 12 hrs a day!! Lol Such a great man!!! I'm DYING to get home and see all my new babies!!!
