I feel like setting more eggs, but I none of my girls are laying and I have $0.00 to spend on more eggs!

Not to worry, Aspen, I set two dozen in the incubator for you today:-D And I went and got more chickens! Light Sussex, two hens, two pullets and two roosters(package deal). So I will sell at least one rooster this weekend at the sale. I cleaned out two big cart loads of manure from the barn, dumped one in Goldenrod Gulch, and tomorrow I think I will tow the other load over to my garden. I painted the wood for the frame of the quail breeder pen. I had three more quail hatch today!
The poor garbage man is going to have a hernia from all the stuff we threw out from the garage! It was a productive day. Oh and I mailed two packages of eggs off. Let's hope the po is easy on them.

I have been looking in to the awfully pretty silver laced wyandottes, Hot2pot. Are they good layers? Say, as compared to the BlackAussies?
They would look really pretty with the BAs. Thinking of maybe slipping some of your hatching eggs under broody one of these times. What can you tell me about them, besides how pretty they are?

Mine are laying every day, the two that have started laying. Their two sisters are being lazy but I did just move the flock. They are fairly calm birds, they don't seem to bicker and squabble among themselves. The rooster is a good boy, doesn't bother people at all. I can email you some pics if you send me your addy. People are always impressed when they see the nice contrast of the lacing on the feathers. You might as well get some Speckled Sussex while you are at it, they are wonderful birds:-D
