Incubators Anonymous

So take them to the auction and sell them before you have to feed, house, and process. Might pay for a little gas and think how much fun you will have!;-)

Okay so now that they have settled down I took some pictures of the brooder and my 10 no wait 21 new babies lol.

The Brahmas are darker than the ones I hatched I think they are probably crossed with Columbian ( I hear that happens in the hatcheries sometimes) I will just have to work to breed out darker coloring as I pick my babies each year. I think it will be a fun project.

The red ones are the peanuts gang (my 11 packing peanuts) and will head to freezer camp in about 4 months but will be able to hang out and have a blast while they are growing up.

And I still have a loaded incubator.

I just moved the 31 (RIP Teeny Tiny) chicks I ordered into the dog crate brooder in the laundry room, getting the spot they WERE occupying ready for the 6 bantam cochins that should, hopefully, hatch this weekend! If I clean out the laundry room I can fit in 2 more broody areas, so....anyone shipping eggs this time of year? I would love some full size Cochins or some Russian Orloffs!

You know I think my turkies have picked on my obsession for hatching, because I have a male rio grand male turkwey sitting on 9 geese eggs. That is crazy!!!!

I have never gotten that many before. They did tell me they were Roos and it makes sense because the pulleys are a sale item the Roos not so much because people only need so many Roos. They are cute though and I am enjoying them while they are here.

Have you candled your Silver Sussex eggs to see if they're fertile?

I just put them in, and I don't candle until day ten. They had better be fertile, four roosters and three hens!:-D

Hello, what is hatching, folks? I had one lone quail hatch today, he is lucky I have buddies for him. I fired up another incubator and filled it already. Somebody please buy some eggs:-D See what I have on the Crazy 24 hour auction. I hate selling them as eating eggs, or feeding them to the chicks, and a person can only eat so much egg salad!
