Jane, I'm not sure, but I have a rooster that is a silver spangled Hamburg that looks a lot like this girl. The comb on the SSH is a rose comb, not sure what the girls rose comb looks like. I have no girls.

they're blue partridge cochins split to mille fleur. the roo is also mille fleur and so far of the 30+ babies i've hatched, only 2 are partridge! LOL and here i wanted a few more to breed FOR partridge. these girls were bought just to go with the mille roo but i love the color too. What are those? I love the color and pattern!
I have a partridge rock roo.... I have plans for him soon...... LOVE that pattern! I need to not have so many projects, but they are fun.
Please forgive me.... I haven't any idea how old these three are, but for some reason I kinda liked them...... very quiet...very peaceful.... and all three came right to the fence and looked right at me. Maybe they were telling me telepathically...."we are sooooo ugly and cross beaked....... but we don't belong here!!"Not sure really.... maybe a straight combed badly colored SLW IDK???? that was no help huh.... how old? Looks like it might be cross beaked or something that comb is not straight near the beak.
i've got an EE with similar pattern, but she's a mutt. that's my guess here too.
OK..... that's what I thought originally too.... HOWEVER, all three are absolutely identical...... sooooooo beautifully silly and very very sweeet.... very very sweet.i've got an EE with similar pattern, but she's a mutt. that's my guess here too.
not EE, the leg color is wrong. but mutt. and that's either a single or a pea comb i'm pretty sure.
I'm in town, so lead poisoning isn't allowed to control my coon issue. I have to resort to live traps & have them taken elsewhere (from where there is NO return) for disposal. A few have gone to my neighbor's brother to train his coon dogs with. I say fair is fair, they wanted to kill my chickens (and HAVE) so I let the dogs have them...AND I don't have to deal with them myselfok, well we've had a bit of excitement for tonight... went out to put up the 'delinquents'. my gold neck d'uccle pair WILL NOT go to bed in the coop but prefer to hang out on top of the mille cochin pen. EVERY NIGHT! well, tonight hubby shined his little flashlight that general direction and were were met with about 4 pairs of eyes WAY too far apart to be chickens. i went back in for the big flashlight, he went in for the .22
tally for the night:
humans: 1 momma and 4 baby raccoons
raccoons: terminal lead poisoning and 0 chickens.
2 of the babies were in my baby pen (chicks who just started free ranging). cute picture but it'll give me nightmares. both babies were on the roost with my barred rock and 2 oegb pullets, trying to figure out how to get out. we gave them the 'way out'... momma was on top of the big pen trying to make a hole, the other 2 babies were in the horse trailer (coop) with my big birds.
*attention raccoon lovers* don't whine to me. they're in my coop and don't belong there, they're dead. end of story.
all i can say is thank god the dogs are good at alerting me of problems. i don't shut the coops until i'm ready for bed, and both of them were trying to go into the baby coop after the coons... LOTS of obedience training comes to play when you've got 'easy prey' and a gun aimed at the prey, and you tell the dogs 'here! down! stay!" and they do.
one of our SLW's has a single comb. but other than that she looks like what she is supposed to. one of the chick from the last batch we did has a single comb as well. To me the one in the pic looks like it might be a cross with a SLW not sure eitherNot sure really.... maybe a straight combed badly colored SLW IDK???? that was no help huh.... how old? Looks like it might be cross beaked or something that comb is not straight near the beak.
As for this little problem so far we have not had a problem with any critters. Have seen 2 opposiums neither were any were near the chicken coop. one I hit with rat shot and have not seen again the other was caught in the front pen area attached to my brooder ( no little ones in there and have not been for a while). we run him in to a live trap then took him off. It was a really young one so I think being scared then loaded into a cage the put on back of a pick up and taken off was enough. As for taking the coons out, Im glad I live in the country where varmitt laws applyok, well we've had a bit of excitement for tonight... went out to put up the 'delinquents'. my gold neck d'uccle pair WILL NOT go to bed in the coop but prefer to hang out on top of the mille cochin pen.
