I just had an awesome hatch from some of her eggs! Of 15 Blue Barred Rocks she sent me, nine hatched!! I also had 6 Norwegian Jaerhon from someone else and I got an adorable little trio, one roo and two pullets, they are my first and I am totally smittenHi All! I just set 10 BLRW eggs from DMRippy, 11 FBCM eggs and 21 other various eggs
. My hova-bator is full! I also just picked up a used sportsman. Needs a good cleaning and small touch ups but I'm super egg-cited to try it out!![]()

I would think genetic too....Would love some opinions on this from all you seasoned incubation addicts out there...just got done with a really disappointing hatch from shipped eggs, only two made it to lockdown and neither hatched, on eggtopsy both had exposed brain, one had only one eye and also a cross bill. Two from the same batch seems like a lot to me, I'm just wondering if there is any way this could have been caused by some kind of mistake during incubation. I have always assumed that these kinds of congenital defects are genetic or due to nutritional defficiencies, but if it is something I am doing I want to fix it.
I am doing the dry hatch method in a HB Genesis with auto egg turner...would love to know what you all think, how often you have seen these types of defects and what may be the cause.
