Incubators for under $100?

I had the second one and the temps and humidity were never easy to maintain. I went back to my LG and have it in the basement after giving up on it. Maybe others had better luck with it.

I've been using an LG; no fan, no turner. All manual. It's a fight to stabilize; not only is it hard to set and extremely touchy, but if the house goes up 5 degrees, you can bet your incubator's gonna go up as well! I dry-incubate, monitor air pockets every few days, and fill all trays at lockdown. I've had 99% hatch rates with stable temps, but I've had hatches spike to 105 and lost 60% of the eggs... I keep the incubator in a closet in the most stable part of the house, but my house may fluctuate between 60-70. I don't have AC, so I can't cool it down. If I notice it's a warmer indoor day I need to actively regulate the unit's temp.

If you want hand's-free no-fuss incubating, don't go for an LG. But they're simple, hard to break, cheap, can hold a ton of eggs, and they do work!
That's pretty much the regular gripes with LG's when you go digital in them (the 9300 models and up) you can add that the thermo display is often off by 1-3 degrees and the sensor that hangs down causes even more temp fluctuation if and when it gets jostled.

Brinseas are about the highest recommended, but you get a portion of the hatching capability in them and chicken math has it's way of making a lot of people wish they had gone with a bigger bator. Either brand though, Brinsea or Hovabator I think you'd be happy with the way they work.

I have 2 little giants I,have had fair to great hatchs with them.I just bought a gennis 1588 with preset temperature It works as advertised I ordered another gennis today without turner

these are with little giants, about 100 quail eggs out of 3 hatchs, and a bunch of silkies

.Its around $200.00 but about $130.00 with out the turner. You could get the turner later.Im spoiled by turner, didnt have one in little giants.I have my incubator loaded with sikies and every one has a chick in it.Im getting another one of those.Plus for 18.00 you can get an adapter in case power goes out.You hook it to car battery. My ist hatch the power went out for 2 days, they were due next morning.I lost them all.
