Incubators sanitizer ? Advice needed

What is the best cleaner for my styro incubator, something I can get at agway or tsc that isn't toxic. Also if you've got advice maybe you can answer this too... How long after being laid can an egg usually wait to begin incubation? I never thought about it before it was always just a few days whatever but now I'm wondering what people know.

I use bleach water to clean mine between hatches. As for eggs; most people prefer a week or less (old) to incubate. Many won't incubate over a week old. The recommendation is under 10 days. After two weeks the experts say that hatch rate significantly decreases.

Some use an antibacterial liquid dish soap.

I wash with hot soapy water then dip in a diluted (1 cap to three gallons water) hot solution then rinse again, set out on the porch to air dry.. The lid I just use a wash cloth to wash off.

Nolvasan (chlorhexidine) is probably the best antimicrobial, virucidal product.

If bleach is good enough for hospital sanitation, it's good enough for me. Once the smell is dissipated, it is not toxic. I sanitize the bator after hatch, and just to be sure, give it a bit of a wipe down before starting it up again.
