I wanted to have small hatches, so I opted for the Brinsea Mini Advance. I wish I could have afforded the EX model, but checking the water daily isn't a hassle for me so I went with the Mini Advance. I LOVE it. I have hatched two sets of eggs and had 100% hatch rate for both. It is a hoot to have on the kitchen counter and watch every day, and you can see the eggs very easily making hatch time a lot of fun -- pull up a couple of chairs and enjoy the show.

To quote gryeyes, it is absolutely stupid proof!

The Hovabator is a styrofoam unit. But it's also half the price of the Brinsea, and works just as well IMO.

???
Sorry, you got it upside down.

Hovabator Genesis is $190 Brinsea ECO 20 $99.00 (sale price)

So Styrobator is almost twice price of Brinsea ECO.

I am still saying I would never pay $190 for a piece of styrofoam when you can buy more durable, more sanitary, easy to clean and longer lasting bator with better warranty for LESS.

No rocket science here.

styro bator with no turner is about the same price as the eco 20. Add turner to eco and they are comparable cost.

That said, styro holds 50 chicken eggs, eco 20 is 24 eggs.

I am looking for an incubator that would hold at least 40 eggs at a time. Anything less than that is not worth my time. I want to be able to put the eggs in, check on them daily, without putting in water, adjusting temps, checkiing on moisture and doing all of the other things that I hear people doing. My hens incubate my eggs, so I want something as close to a hen as possible.

With that said, I'm sure that there is nothing out there like that, so I guess I better just stick to my broody hens.
