Incuview - Incubating Flat, Hatching Upright?

I have an Incuview also. Two hatches so far. 100% on our own chicken eggs. And 83% on some shipped Coturnix. I also noticed high temps in the corners. Up to 103 sometimes. After the two great hatches, I figured that somehow it balances out like the Incuview tech told you. We are hatching another batch of Coturnix right now and I'm not even checking the corner temps this time.
I think your hatch will go fine. The incubator seems to work great even with the uneven temp distribution.

That's awesome! I'm so glad you had such good hatches. That's really reassuring. Unfortunately the temps on the top right side were going from 102.4-106.0 depending on tray position, amd I was busy with family and didn't notice. It looks like all 8 eggs from the top two rows on the right side didn't make it. I'm leaving the half developed ones in for a little longer to be sure though.

They were shipped eggs so maybe they were weaker, but my post office was great and it wasn't far so most had undamaged air cells. The breeder sent 10 extra so I was able to put in 24 with good air cells and 3 with only partially detached air cells that I did upright a few days.

The sensor was in the wrong position when I got the incubator and it had bad fluctuations so I moved it out to the left, too far I was told (now it's bent down directly below where it's attached like the tech told me). But it was still ok until the 3rd day when it had a heat spike while I was busy & the temp was fluctuating from 102.4 to 106.0 on the top right side for most of the day. I got some high temps in the middle and all corners as well after I realized what was going on & did some tests. After rebooting it, it was fine, with a few minor fluctuations. Less fluctuations since I positioned the sensor correctly so hopefully the 11 good eggs survive. Maybe a few dark shelled ones are alive also. :)

I had one of those turners also and traded it for the upright one. I didn't have much luck with shipped eggs --or--it was because I was doing bantams---or---I don't know but I didn't like it. LOL The 2 things I did like about it were 1. It doesn't generate as much heat as the upright turners so there wasn't such a huge fluctuation when I removed it for the last few days and 2. I didn't even have to remove it. I also hatch with them laying flat --have never done upright. Some chicks struggle enough to push out of the shells and I am afraid upright they would have more trouble since they can't kick the bottom of the egg away.

Was your upright turner for the IncuView or a different incubator?
