I have four girls, two are some kind of sex-link breed (the guy in the store wasn't sure), two Jersey giants or Australorps (both weigh at least eleven pounds). I got the orange chickens at 15 weeks old, they are now around 19 weeks.

One of the orange ones is higly independent. She never hangs out with the flock, runs to me first for treats and lets me pick her up (the other hate it), explores all the neighbors gardens every chance she gets by herself, and I have to find her in a tree or bush in our garden every night to put her in the coop, the other girls all go in on their own. The interesting thing is that she is lowest in the pecking order. She seems to be avoiding the bullying by being independent, you can see her thinking. The other three are as dumb as a bucket of rocks.

When I get a chance I'll post pics so you can help me identify their breed!

I have 3 Barred Rock, 1 of which would always perch on my hand from the time she was 3 weeks old. She still always wants to perch on me, and will actually let me pet her back! I didn't treat her any differently than any of the other chicks.
Also, have an Auracana that I added later, and she keeps her distance from the flock to avoid any pecking. But she seems smarter & faster than any of the others!

I have a sex link hen like that. Her name is Bunny.

A friend ordered about 50 production layers and she was one of them. She was very friendly from the start and she gave her to me because she is more of a pet chicken than a production layer who gets killed in two years. The other hens in the batch are just regular hatchery pullets, they don't really trust humans.

I don't know if it is in her nature to be so friendly or a human fussed with her? I doubt the latter because she came from a big Hatchery.

I have a Blue Andalusian that is like Denis the Menace. There is definitely something going on behind those eyes, plotting and very curious, always looking in the kitchen window.
