Indian Runner Duck - Sick?

Hi,
I have an Indian Runner duck that has stopped quacking today and seems to be a little lethargic. We were able to pick her up and she's just making a hissing noise and not fighting being held the way she normally would. She's drinking okay, but I can't tell if she's eating the way she should be. What should I be looking for? Should I take her to a vet or monitor her? She's pretty young, about 8 weeks.

8 weeks is young. I'd place her for sure where you can monitor if she is eating and drinking enough. Preferably inside and maybe with a buddy. Any discharge from her eyes or nares? What do you feed and are you supplementing with any niacin? Anything out in the property she could have eaten that shouldn't have been eaten?

How hot is it there? Is she inside or outside? 8 weeks is a little young for her to be consistently quaking and they will often have more chatty days and not so chatty days at that age. Is she showing any other symptoms? What does her poop look like? What feed is she on? Is her water deep enough to dunk her head? Is she around other ducklings? Can you add pictures or a video?

No discharge and we have been monitoring

She’s doing much better now. No discharge from her eyes or nares and yesterday as we monitored her we can tell she’s eating and drinking normally again. She gets crumbles but they are poultry not just duck so we’re adding extra niacin now.

She’s with a flock of chickens but no other ducks. It was raining off and on Thursday but when it was sunny it was about 80 degrees. She has access to lots of shade but I’ll certainly make sure she has deeper water. She’s got three trays until the little pound gets finished that are less than 8 inches deep.

I’d get her at least one other duck friend to make sure she’s happy. The chickens help but she’d be happier with other ducks around
