Hello, our Indian runner ducklings are trying to hatch. I noticed this morning one is stuck half in and half out I thought it best to just leave it and let mother nature do its thing but it's been stuck like this for a while. I'm not sure how long it can survive without being able to move should I assist or leave it be?
I've attached photos, It's kind of hard to see but baby is in the right hand corner next to mama duck. I'm new to the site or at least to posting, forgive me if I have meant posted things correctly.

I can't zoom in on my computer. but it looks like it's mostly out. You should help it it's probably getting cold out from under mama. use warm water to moisten the membrane it is likely stuck to the ducklings fluff.

I'd leave it mama knows what she is doing. It takes a while for them to work their way out completely from the egg. Helping too soon can cause trouble. If that is it's bill sticking out it should push itself the rest of the way out by itself and will take short rests while it's doing it.

Thank you for the responses! It is most of the way out and seems to be resting a lot. It's a very humid day but wondering if I should stick a heat lamp in there to keep it warm while it works it's way out?

As of last night 3 healthy ducklings! Had to move them to the brooder as temps were dropping and momma was a bit preoccupied with keeping the unhatched eggs warm. Maybe some new faces this morning, we'll see! We lost our drake about a week ago so the new faces are a pleasant and adorable surprise. Thanks for all the help
