INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Haha. It actually wasn't too bad.
Have you ever hauled ducks? they are far worse than chickens when it comes to stinking up a car!
always the practical considerations. How does one get that smell out anyway? It stayed in our basement for quite a while after we moved the chicks out and cleaned everything.
When I haul chickens in vechicle (not truck beds) I leave the doors open for a little while and let air full through it

Brad your pics aren't terrible. I can see the shapes. ;)  They are very nice birds. That buff is beautiful. The silver is also. It must have been difficult fer her to sell them. I would be so sad if I had to give mine up. The blue pair is lovely. You did good! lol  Alpacas are a joy to have. Maybe someday you will be able to get some. :) They all poop in one spot, so clean up is a breeze. HA!
Haha, yeah shapes are about all you can see. Thanks, I think I did very well especially for the price. I feel like I practically stole them form her. I keep telling myself that she was the one that set the price, not me lol.

Brad did you get the chickens from that lady that was moving to LaFayette? I was trying to make arrangements to get a couple silkies from that lady but the postal service said would be expensive and dangerous to send adult birds so I backed out for the safety of them. If those are the ones you got I'm glad you got them! I am serious that I would like a mating pair of White Silkies in the spring, after I get some "herd thinning" done. If you will please keep me in mind. Those pics aren't that bad! You have beautiful birds!

No, I got these from a lady out of Peru. She had a Facebook page called Hoosier Silkies but I think she deleted it right after I bought the birds. She sold them for health reasons.

I will keep you in mind. I'll have to read up on the requirements of shipping live birds, though. I do plan on becoming npip certified, I'm not sure when I'll get it done next year. And I think the birds have to be tested to ship, but I'll double check.

I'm glad that you were able to help her out. It's so nice that you all out there are so helpful with each other. I've tried to get the WV thread going by asking open questions and or requesting advice but no one wants to chat to much just a statement or trouble then gone. I know I live in the Backwoods but at least peeps could be friendly. Lol well at any rate let me know if and when you are able to ship please. :) And congrats on some beautiful babies!
