"We have a really cool Japanese Maple that always has seedlings if anyone wants any. It will be several months, but I can dig them up and save them."
I am definitely interested in getting some seedlings!
Its more the temptation factor. It's more Big R. They had the cochins last year. There is a very easy solution. Slip eggs under a broody lol!
Thank you! I really did. She was in my original group of chicks, but she was the only one that was mine specifically. She was bossy, funny, and always interested in what I was doing, but would also let my kids hold her any time they wanted.Cheryl, I am so sorry!I know you loved that sweet girl. She's lucky that you were taking such good care of her inside your home. Hopefully, you can find some answers.![]()
I'm really sorry about your calf!M2H= thanks I have been so busy past 2 days that I cant even keep up with the thread let alone research. thank you. I don't have the calf any more he didn't make it. DH wants to get another one, but I told him he would have to get him past the ruff patch cause I just cant take the dying thing well.
and besides my chickens will like it and every little bit helps.

Do you still get allergy shots? I get allergy shots every 3 weeks. They say they will not go away (sometimes the allergies disappear), so pretty much I will be getting them for the rest of my life. Mine aren't just for cats though, lots more, just too much to list! They have made my life so much better, I can tell when I need one, sometimes spot on. The only bad part was getting tested for them!chick rookie~ I found these posts:
racinchickens ~ I bet that does save a lot of energy. The only reason I don't hang clothes/bedding outside is because of allergens adhering to fabric. We have enough allergy problems without sleeping in sheets coated with pollen. I used to get cat-allergy injections-- well, I couldn't get rid of my cats as the allergist suggested!
wheezy ~ That does seem early. Maybe it's a new strategy to market them for Valentine's Day in addition to Easter! I think that our "Chick Days" sales at RK begin in early March.I was at Martinsville Rural King today picking up some chicken feed and saw a paper posted in the feed section. Said they would be getting their first batch of chicks for Valentines Day. Seems a lot earlier than most years, I thought they usually got chicks in April?
I think it said the first batch would be RIR, BR, ISA brown and EE pullets. It also mentioned something about special orders for rare breeds. (Dont know what those breeds are)
Just in case anyone is waiting on chicks thought I'd pass this along.
